Claudio is an effective tool to record sound from your computer. It is a Vista-compatible tool with some really good features. As soon as you start the application, you have an option to see the recording time at your disposal based on the free space available on the selected drive. Once the recording has been made, you can export it using different audio formats, such as WAV, MP3, and Ogg. You can also create an executable file with a tiny built-in player along with the recorded audio file for e-mail distribution.
Claudio offers you a few keyboard shortcuts to improve your working speed. Besides, you can also set scheduled recordings, and leave the program working unattended. As for the output quality, you may select one of the various sampling rates available, ranging from 11 kHz to 192 kHz. As an editor, Claudio allows you to change the start and end times of the file before exporting it, along with the standard split and cut features.
However, there is huge room for improvement when it comes to the user’s experience. It has not been very well tested - for example, when it is an active application, it still doesn't appear in the list which shows up when you use Alt+Tab.
